Capturing Aviation on the Zugspitze

During a winter visit to the Zugspitze in Bavaria last year, I had the opportunity to combine outdoor adventure with my passion for photography. The conditions were perfect—clear skies, crisp cold air, and plenty of visitors enjoying sledding on Germany’s highest peak.

Equipped with my Canon R6 and a 100–400mm lens, I was prepared to document the day. Unexpectedly, the ADAC Luftrettung carried out several rescue missions on the mountain. As aviation has always fascinated me, I took the chance to capture their helicopters in action.

Later, I submitted some of these images to ADAC for marketing purposes. To my great honor, one of my photographs was selected for the December page of the ADAC Luftrettung Calendar 2026. Seeing my work featured in such a respected publication is both rewarding and motivating.
